Description

Offered for purchase:  Sweet Corn Freeze Dried.  Approximately  2 cups per package.  Freeze Dried corn is delicious.  It can be eaten as is (some people like it better than popcorn!!)  You can also use it in your recipes as you would regular corn or you can add a little water to rehydrate, then heat it up and add some butter to eat as a side dish.
About Freeze Drying
Freeze drying is a low temperature dehydrating process which involves freezing the product, lowering pressure, then removing the ice by sublimation. This is in contrast to dehydration by most conventional methods that evaporate water using heat.
Freeze drying results in a high quality product because of the low temperature used in processing. The original shape of the product is maintained and quality of the re-hydrated product is excellent.
How to eat this product
Freeze Dried Sweet Corn does not need to be re-hydrated, you can eat it as a crunchy snack. These make great hiking snacks!!!  You can also use the Sweet Corn in your other food dishes.  Just add the Sweet Corn while your soups or stews are cooking and the corn will re-hydrate in the broth or sauce.

Freeze drying maintains 97% of the nutritional value of the food. Other methods of preservation, such as canning and dehydrating, use high temperatures that destroy much of the food value.
Packaging
We seal everything in FDA & USDA compliant Mylar bags.  We include an oxygen absorber which will keep your food fresh and ready to use for years.  Once the Mylar bag is opened though, be sure to seal it tightly if there are still remaining items in the bag.  Unopened, food items in the Mylar
bag are safe for 25-30 years but once opened and exposed to air, the time drops to just a few months.
Please note: We will package the product well for shipping, but due to the freeze drying process which makes the product brittle, there could be some cracking and separating.
