Ebony is a great and warm wood that works well and shows its true color and beauty when sanded and polished.  The ebony i sell is from west africa and kindly do note that they have different degrees of streaks and i believe its really hard to get complete jet black
All my gaboon ebony fingerboards/ fretboards are quarter sawn from round logs.
