Description
Museum pair (Positive and negative sides), Rare and unusually Fossil in Siderite Nodule from Kentucky. I am not a fossil expert, but believe this is either a Sea Cucumber (Holothuroidea), or Coprolite through my research and the experts I have reached out to, but further study may be required. There are no fish bones or scales that I can personally see under magnification. It may be something different but is definitely an exceptional piece and top shelve worthy display. There is also an imprint with color variation on the side where it was split opened revealing the fossil. This Nodules original size was very large. The piece that the fossil is in was naturally broken off during a freeze and thaw process at sometime, the rest of the nodule was unable to be recovered at this point. Collected in Lincoln County Kentucky. Fluorescent pictures were taken under Short wave ultra violet light. If you have questions please ask. See pictures as part of the description. If you would like extra insurance, let me know before you pay and I can add the additional cost to your invoice. Thanks for visiting our Rock Shop

We are passionate about geology and have an undeniably strong connection with nature and these wondrous crystal rocks. These grand geodes have endured the test of time through the most cataclysmic events in their lifetime and have metamorphosized into what we call a geode. They have been waiting to find a home with you! Have fun and enjoy natures beauty.
If you have questions, please ask. We are Rockhounders amateur geologist and do our best to describe our specimens with accuracy. Some of our geodes have multiple minerals in them, which may or may not be listed in the title description.
The Bluegrass State is usually overlooked in the international study of minerals. Much like the highly prized Red Black banded agate; some of the most beautiful and colorful specimens in the world are hidden away in the rugged terrain of Kentucky's scenic Knobs Region
Geodes are often named according to a particular feature or mineral they exhibit or mention where the particular geodes were found. Common informal names for geodes include: quartz geodes, amethyst geodes, agate geodes, enhydro geodes, Oco geodes, Keokuk geodes, coconut geodes, Thunder eggs etc. We call our geodes, Kentucky Geodes, Kentucky Geode Nodules, Lapidary Geode and Kentucky Geode Agates dependent on where they are found in Kentucky and qualities they exhibit. They are all some variety of a geode.
